It’s been a long while since my last post. Since then, I’ve been through Slovenia, the Balkans and Greece(kinda) and in that time, I got REALLY behind with photos and posting. It was a bit overwhelming trying to catch up and fit all of it on-the-go so I’ve decided to skip that part for now and focus on Turkey. I’ve kind of caught on that nobody really reads anything I write and just sort of skims through the pics so I’ll try to be a bit more concise. Not even my mum follows this anymore.
Also wow, Turkey is unbelievable.
Is there a place as grand as Istanbul? It’s definitely up there. There is just so many insanely large monuments that constantly make you think — “That building is huge! It must be the famous Blue Mosque”. I made this mistake far too often.
I had limited time and a lot of sights to see around Turkey so, for the first time this trip, I headed to the nearest travel agent and they worked out and pre-booked an itinerary. Night buses have become necessary for time.
While the days were filled with insightful tours of the region, I had two sunrises and two sunsets to use wisely in the stunningly picturesque area of Cappadocia. The cave that I slept in was actually one of the nicest places I’ve stayed at with each cave kept to a perfect 20-23 degrees C.
I feel like I got the most out of the time I had.

Hot air balloons spectacularly fill the sky as the sun rises every morning. As for riding these balloons, Cappadocia definitely does it best. I couldn’t resist. The next morning I was up.
Turkish night buses are amazing; fully equipped with some wifi and decent leg room.
I jumped off a bridge a couple of weeks ago and really bruised my coccyx so I definitely appreciate the extra comfort. My main goal in the beautiful town of Fethiye was to see the beautiful beach of Oludeniz. Still wasn’t as good as Queensland but the island hopping day cruise with the Chileans was unforgettable.
It’s been said that the beautiful salt baths of Pamukkale have healing properties. I think they may have worked some magic on the ol’ coccyx. Don’t book a tour here. DIY.
Currently in the best city ever — Budapest and soon to be beginning my Scandinavia road-trip. Very excited. Prepare your eyes.
