So I turned 20. That’s changing two whole numbers. I died a little on the inside and probably a bit on the outside. Moving on to lonely solo travel on my birthday wasn’t pleasant. Luckily, I found a fellow Australian. I accidentally went ‘woah’ when she told me she was 25 though. Very rude moment. Paw Paw ointment unite.

Granada is a completely new Spain compared to the previous cities. I’d definitely say it’s probably the most authentically Spanish place I’ve been to. My new Aussie friend Sarah (Not hot-sun) and I woke up at 5am to get to the front of the ticket line at the Alhambra. It’s this temple/tiny city on top of the hill. It’s pretty impressive.
Strolling around. The hostel and the rooms were huge.
Luckily, I’m very fortunate to have a local friend. Victor (Not VDP) was an amazing host and showed me the real wonders of hilly Granada. Tapas. So pretty much, the deal in Granada is that if you go into a bar/restaurant and order a drink you get a free Tapa. So whenever you get any drink (1.50-2 Euros) you get a free (and delicious) side dish.
“If you’re in Granada and you order a drink and don’t like Tapas, bad luck.” - Victor M.
For my birthday, Victor took me to places where the free Tapas were huge. It was spectacular. Granada is also about forty minutes from some prime snow slopes and an hour away from the beach. Food, snow AND beach? What more can you ask for? There’s also a ridiculous amount of places for views.
Thank you for everything, Victor, Teresa and the Molinero familia! Your house is beautiful!
(Sorry, my night photos suck without a tripod.)
Granada -> Seville
Ah, warmth. It’s been too long. Seville is absolutely beautiful. The architecture is bright and colourful and it’s all ridiculously clean. I’m not sure about food because I had two below average meals and one amazing dinner. Traveling by myself means eating alone. Philip the tour guide was a blast. I’ll definitely consider taking more walking tours from now on. In contrast to Granada, Seville is flat. Both are completely different cities.
